Edge of the World Day Tour from Riyadh

Towering cliffs protruding dramatically from the middle of a barren desert, the Edge of the World is an unexpected geological wonder. The site is aptly named because from the edge of this sheer precipice is an unobstructed view across the vast valley floor and to the horizon. A breathtaking sight you won’t soon forget.

Towering cliffs protruding dramatically from the middle of a barren desert, the Edge of the World is an unexpected geological wonder. The site is aptly named because from the edge of this sheer precipice is an unobstructed view across the vast valley floor and to the horizon. A breathtaking sight you won't soon forget.

From Riyadh, take a scenic 2-hour drive northwest to the Edge of the World, also known as Jebel Fihrayn. It's a part of the much longer Tuwaiq Escarpment that snakes away for 600 km and drops down 1,000 feet into an ancient ocean bed. From the road, it typically takes about half an hour to reach the cliff edge, but along the way are plenty of opportunities to stop and appreciate this magnificent natural wonder.

While standing atop the cliffs, you'll see dried rivers weaving across the valley and even spot camels moving far below. You can also go for a hike and pass through a spot called "the window," where you can go down and explore the lower plateau. Keep an eye out for fossils and always watch your steps as the gravel is loose and the rocks are sharp.

Tour ends with a transfer back to Riyadh.
